In 2014, McCourt Global (MG) purchased 3 acres of property along Waller Creek at the corner of Cesar Chavez and Red River streets in downtown Austin. In 2015, McCourt Global announced the further acquisition of a 1.39-acre parcel on the corner of Cesar Chavez and Red River streets.
The Waller Creek project will comprise approximately 3 million square feet of office, residential for-lease units; condominium units; a lifestyle hotel; and retail space in several buildings, the tallest of which is expected to exceed 50 floors. When completed, the project will be among the largest single mixed-use developments in downtown Austin and will deliver exceptional views of both Lady Bird Lake and the Austin skyline and offer direct access to the adjacent Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail.
